Fractals in GLSL
A fractal is z = z² + c repeated until it escapes. You plot the complex plane, color the escape smoothly, animate c into Julia sets and zoom in.
- The complex planeEvery pixel is a number with two halves. Welcome to the map.
- z = z² + cOne rule, repeated. The seed of everything.
- EscapeDo you stay or fly to infinity? Count the steps.
- SmoothingThe steps melt into a continuous gradient.
- PaletteThe smooth count becomes color. Here it ignites.
- JuliaFix c, free z. Filaments everywhere.
- Animated cThe constant breathes in a circle. The creature lives.
- ZoomRecenter and dive. The detail never ends.
- Orbit trapDo not count the escape: measure how close the orbit passed.
- VividAll of it: palette, edge glow, veins and vignette. Your piece.
